But otherwise, you will be using as little water as possible so you dont fill the gray water tank too fast. If left open cold water will mix with hot water and you will have water that is not hot enough. In the spring when the RV is de-winterized, if this valve is left open the hot water will mix with the cold water supply resulting in lukewarm water rather than hot water at your faucet or shower head.
